Energiaklub was established in 1990 with the aim of contributing to the birth of a civilised energy-consuming, sustainable society in Hungary and on the European continent. Since than Energiaklub has been a rapidly evolving NGO, which develops its activities along strategic commitments and fosters energy-related issues throughout the CEE region. The organisation influences the decision making process in energy policy, provides professional advice and information, and also offers alternative solutions to society, municipalities and the industrial sphere.

The main fields of Energiaklub`s activity are energy policy, climate change, renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, nuclear safety, capacity building and networking in CEE region, and education. The aim of the renewable energy programme is to contribute to a sound and reliable legal and economic environment for a long term renewable energy utilisation, to enhance the spreading of small scale and decentralised renewable energy solutions and to ensure that renewable energy sources are used in a sustainable way. Energiaklub thus prepares market studies and other decision-preparation documents, presents best practice projects and takes part in research activities.

In the Q-BICON project Energiaklub leads the work package “detailed market and demand analysis” which major objective is to analyse and report the needs of the European bioenergy market, its prerequisites and particularly the demands as regards knowledge transfer, trainings and seminars. Energiaklub performs communication and dissemination activities in Hungary and implements the pilot seminar.
